What’s more important, the Yankees missing the play offs, or your team making the play offs?
tigger asked:
I realize you can **** the Yankees all you want, but it seems to me that many fans find it easier to root against the Yankees making the play offs than their own teams making it there. Why? Is it because maybe your team isn’t so successful? Fans will also say that they haven’t won a WS since 2000, well neither have the Cubs, Tigers, Indians, Reds & about 90% of the league.

I wouldn’t care if the Yankees didn’t make the playoffs or if they did. If anything I would like alot more to see the Jays in the playoffs next season. Although I’m sure next season will be a season much like this one.

Both! We’re still in the hunt and will probably take the wild card at least. But watching the Yankees hang on to 3rd place without a prayer in the world is just icing on the cake.

I don’t like to see Yankees to make the playoffs because they are paying their players way too much. Of course those money will get very good talents to make them a very good team but it also making the fans and medias to think they are GODS and fire managers if they don’t win the WS. Baseball is not working that way, sometimes if you don’t have it, you just don’t know matter how good talent you have or how experienced you are.
I believe the Yankees are one of the franchises to lead this trend to all other baseball teams and now teams are paying meaningless money to players who are not particularly performing well. All that money is actually becoming a burden because they create so much pressure on the players that hardly anyone will understand and just blame the players for their slump and injuries. It is as unhealthy to the sport as steroids.
I say make the entire contracts of the players an option and unless the players perform, they should not get that money. After this miserable season, Yankees should make some changes to their concept of winning and then I don’t mind see the most successful baseball franchises winning again.
Money don’t win the ballgame.

The O’s making the playoffs is more important than any other baseball related event.
Since it isn’t going to happen this year I cheer for the downfall of NYY and hope BOS either doesn’t make it or loses in the first round.
I love how the Yankees fans get all hurt and defensive, try enduring years and years of losing seasons.

I could care less what the Yankees do.
If someone cares more about someone else’s team missing the playoffs than their own team making it, then they’re not much of a baseball fan, are they?

My team making the playoffs is more important, considering my team is the Yankees.
