Michael Vick is back in the league playing Eagles, should people be treating him the way they are?

Tyler21 asked:

Let’s say someone cheated on you and did something bad would you forgive them if you loved them?

Michael Vick did dogfighting and it was bad and he shouldn’t of done it, but everybody deserves a seciond chance right? Well then why are people saying horrrible things about Vick?

If you were Andy Reid and the owner of the Eagles would you give Michael Vick a second chance?

People are also forgiving him. Don’t act like everyone in the universe is harping on Vick. He did a horrible crime and will never be looked at the same way. Let people have their opinion.

The public knows the man that killed innocent dogs, blew his reputation, and then got a million dollar job back as a roll model and football player. People don’t know who the man is. They don’t know how he feels, so they are going to talk crap about him for a long time. He has to prove himself to the world. I wish him luck.

You build great teams with character. MV, bad character. Tom Brady, Good character (super bowl wins). It just writes itself. TO bad character and Joe Montana Good character (super bowl wins).

This was not getting stoned and then getting caught driving. This was an organized sadistic business he took on where he tortured and had dogs strangled by hand. It went on for years. I think 10 years would have been a more suitable sentance.

Abosluetly not. Someone who tortures and kills dogs for money (when he doesn’t need it) and for a few laughs is a sick person and should never be allowed to wear a NFL uniform again. A felony to any normal person means little chance of ever landing a decent job again. What does it mean to an NFL player? It means getting back in and making millions again. A person that electrocuted man’s best friend should not be on TV with so many kids looking up to him. It sets an extremely bad example for kids when someone who did something so wrong and evil gets to go back to what he was doing and make millions all because he said “I’m sorry.” That’s not enough and he didn’t serve anywhere near as long as he should’ve.

The owner of the eagles and Andy Reid have done something that nobody who hates michael vick has done and that is talk to him. They have talked to him for hours and hours to see if the man has changed and is on the way for the better. They wouldn’t have signed him unless they strongly (which mean 99% chance) believe that michael vick is a changed man.

LizAugust 10th, 2009 at 3:42 pm

Are you joking?! The man is a MURDERER. He TORTURED AND KILLED a ridiculous number of innocent dogs! He deserves to rot! He should have been jailed the rest of his life, and if not that long, he should have been left with nothing. Nobody should hire that sadistic psychopath. Somebody cheating on somebody else (which is still ridiculous) might deserve a chance. Somebody killing and maiming a large group of innocent creatures deserves NOTHING. I hope Michael Vick dies a horrible, excruciating death for his travesties against those dogs.

Anybody that craves the limelight like he does is subject to public scrutiny. If he and his so-called “fans” don’t want him to be criticized, then he should have stuck with the construction job and tried to stay off of the television.

Kind of like what happened to Mark McGwire in baseball, he basically disappeared after the steriods scandal came out. Nobody talks about him, because he has made it so that their is nothing to talk about.

To error is human, to forget and forgive is a sign of being a man, only little children, and immature people hold grudges. So you do what you want, I will be a man forgive him

People have nothing to do but complain, once this whole vick thing is over with that same people will be crying and Bi*ching about something else.

BarracudaAugust 13th, 2009 at 12:41 pm

The fact is, Vick is not a good person, and this was not a mistake. He doesn’t think he did anything wrong. It’s sad that people are believing everything that comes out of this sociopath’s mouth.

It’s not the second chance I have a problem with, it’s the fact that he probably will disappoint all his supporters by getting in trouble again.

DoorknobAugust 15th, 2009 at 3:42 am

Most important is, can Vick play football as well as he did before his illegal activities? He paid his debt to society by going to jail. Andy Reid knows that everyone deserves a second chance. I know Reid did much soul searching himself when his own children ran afoul of the legal system. I think Vick will have to prove that he can be a good team member by playing straight and by keeping out of trouble on and off the field.

chappine03August 16th, 2009 at 7:18 pm

yea ur rite, he deserves a 2nd chance. the ppl who say he doesnt deserve a 2nd chance are just scared of the eagles now.

Quagmire (Giggity Giggity Goo)August 17th, 2009 at 11:15 am

People just flip out over the dumbest stuff. He didn’t even run that dog fighting ring. He just let his cousin use his house and his cousin was dumb enough to get caught.

2 years of jail time was way to much time. Nevertheless, he served his time and he should be reinstated fully. He, for sure, deserves a second chance.

uthamanjAugust 18th, 2009 at 5:31 am

Don’t worry, it’s only a small percentage of people who would never forgive Vick. Truth of the matter is we can’t say whether he learned his lesson or not only time will tell, but we can at least give him the opportunity.

Vick (Philadelphia Phreedom)August 19th, 2009 at 9:04 pm

First of all, I’ll have Youji know that Tom Brady likes to knock up super models and that Joe Montana juggles cats for entertainment. Just winning Super Bowls does not equate to good character.

Secondly, Liz needs to understand that the term MURDER pertains to killing human beings, like what Ray Lewis and OJ Simpson did. She is obviously in an unnatural relationship with her pet that others shun, so she is taking her aggressions out on me.

Whether you like it or not, Vick is back in the NFL. Deal with it.

StevieAugust 20th, 2009 at 9:47 pm

your right everybody does deserve a second chance. He served his time in prison and knows what he did was cruel and fucked up. I think he should be looked at like he was back in 2005 when nobody any of this ever happened

Hmmm...August 21st, 2009 at 7:46 am

Cheating is one thing. What he did is another. I believe giving him a second chance is saying what he did was okay. I will openly say terrible things about Michael Vick. Without a doubt, I would NOT give Vick a second chance.

I don’t believe that he has learned ANYTHING! I don’t care if he was exposed to dog fighting at a young. Any decent human should be able to understand that hurting a living creature is wrong. LEADING an operation that brutally kills and ruins dogs is horrific and unforgivable. And he led it for SIX YEARS! Come on, guys! You can not honestly believe that he now “loves dogs” and “realizes he was wrong”. How can time in jail make someone realize brutally killing animals is wrong when watching them squeal and suffer and bleed and cry out couldn’t? This man drowned dogs, electrocuted dogs, shot dogs, trained dogs to mangle each other and released injured dogs into fights so that they could be further tortured. If I knew I would never get caught, I would love to tie up Michael’s hands and feet so he couldn’t fight back and release Michael Vick into fight with a dog. What he did was NOT okay. Forgiving him is NOT okay. I cannot believe the NFL is allowing him back. What a stupid man. Think of your own dogs people. This is absolutely unforgivable and I cannot say it enough. He is “sorry” because he is sorry his career went down the drain and he is “sorry” meaning he is sad that people don’t like him. I do not believe he will ever feel remorse for those dogs. The fact that he was able to do it in the past and that he did it for so long shows a tremendous issue with this man. I believe he could kill a human being. Disgusting. Despicable. I will not support him, ever.

kunAugust 23rd, 2009 at 8:37 pm

Go Vick! what he did is done and payed for! those dumb dogs woulda just been attacking people on the streets or fighting anyway! listen here give him another chance u hippie tree huggers! go vikings go michael vick and if u wanna be mad at someone look at stallworth killing a dude. he was drunk and high and got 30 days in jail! we all owe vick after putting him in jail for way too long!

chicken2008August 26th, 2009 at 4:15 pm

This man spend two years in jail and lost alot. I mean he paid a huge price for his crime. I don’t think he should spend the rest of his life paying the price. I think he has a right to a second chance. People have done far worse. I think as the season goes on this will pass. Especially if he plays well. Would I have gave him a chance maybe. I would have to deal with him face to face to see what he could do to help my team. I would look at the profession of football only not his mistake. People spend years in jail for crimes. They get release and have to start over and someone has to deal with that person sooner or later.

TazAugust 26th, 2009 at 4:53 pm

Why are people up in arms about this? The general public needs to learn to move on. Mike Vick committed a horrible crime, but he isn’t the only one. There are many others who continue to torture and abuse animals (puppy mills, slaughterhouse, etc). Vick just happens to be a high profile athlete and because of that he is taking the brunt of the animal cruelty protests.
