Lebron James is one of the most overated/overhyped player in the game. He is good but not great. He doesn't deserver all the attentions but this is how the media works. The media probably thinks he is the "future" of basketball, like the next jordan or bryant. Anybody who understands basketball knows Lebron James is nowhere near them. Kobe Bryant had all the attention at one point, but now he has aged and after the Colorado incident he was never seriously promoted again.
