Would Lebron James actually make a great football player?

Jim asked:

I think Lebron James could make the transition to the NFL. Like Antonio Gates, I think he’d make a great tight end. He definitely has the speed, strength, and size. I’d like to see it, but what are your opinions?

I think he could. Look at a guy by the name of TONY GONZALES. This guy was a big time basketball player. He is known for dunking the football through the goal posts after he scores. Alot of people say NO because Lebron plays basketball and could not handle the physical aspect of the game. To bad he can. Basketball players actually stay injured just as much as football players. Lebron could learn to take hits and he is what 6′7? I would say he would be a decent football player.

He could maybe be a wide receiver

He was an all american in his jr year of HS. He stop playing to work on basketball full time. We was a wide out.
Check his highlights out. He would be in the NFL. He played both sports at a high level when he was younger

Hell I’d give him some speed drills in the off season, all the while with a juggs machine throwing the ball at him. In practice he would be lined up in the receiver slot. Ok Lebron run 15 yrds and put your hands up and the Q B will throw you the ball over your shoulder.
Yep I agree with you Tight End or receiver he would be great.

he’s 6′8” 250. players would go at his legs all the time. but he would work @ QB, at least he’d be protected

Nope, if he can’t play with contact in basketball without getting injured, how the hell would he take a hit from someone like LaRon Landry or Patrick Willis?
